Virtual Reality is the Key to bringing back Tourism to New York

I recently came across a New York City based company called CampusVR. They produce virtual reality videos for college campuses. Their clients include Duke University as well as the University of Tampa. In this age of COVID this concept is brilliant! Students wanting to tour potential colleges may do so incorporating this technology. This saves them money not having to travel as well safety from COVID exposure.

Why doesn’t New York State invest in this technology to spur tourism?

Imagine one of my history tours of Coney Island accessible via a virtual reality video to someone in Europe who always wanted to visit the People’s Playground? How about Niagara Falls or the Empire State Building?

There’s no doubt that VR is the future of tourism. It should be invested in now.
