Council member Mark Treyger secured numeous mobile COVID-19 testing sites throughout the district. The tireless leader always puts his heart and soul into his job always coming in the clutch for the people in his community.
After dealing with the struggles of a complete amusement park shutdown in 2020, including a cancelled 100th birthday party for the world renowned Wonder Wheel, the Vourderis family revealed plans for a new rollercoaster called the Phoenix to debut sometime in 2021.
Boardwalk store owner Lola Star fought like mad to keep her beloved business open along with the true spirit of Coney Island alive. She also employees young women throughout the borough. I worked at the same giftshop many seasons ago!
Lola Star also has plenty of kind words for community activist Steven Patzer. She has publicly stated ” he (Patzer) is one of the few who have supported me in the struggle to save my business. In addition, I’ve watched him work tirelessly to help our community.” She went on to say that ”a new generation of politicians like Steven will save our city.”
Environmentalist Charles Denson produced a video documenting necessary steps to protect the Coney Island Creek. It’s a must view for everyone!
New York State’s brightest and certainly most educated public servent Mathlyde Frontus declared victory for another term in the State Assembly. A great victory for Coney Island. Dr. Frontus is an extraordinary role model for women all through-out the state (including myself).
Coney Island-born historian Michael Quinn has been scoping empty lots to purchase in Coney Island with plans to permanently bring famed restaurant Feltman’s of Coney Island back in all it’s glory. Quinn, who already owns an apartment in Coney Island also owns the Feltman’s name (Charles Feltman invented the hot dog in 1867). He plans on bringing back the sprawling restaurant resort complex (once billed the largest in the world) in the most extravagant way possible including a spot-on re-creation of Feltman’s German Beer Garden along with live entertainment and amusements.
Quinn’s company Feltman’s of Coney Island is the fastest growing hot dog brand in America. His critically acclaimed hot dogs are found in over 5,000 supermarkets nationwide including Whole Foods.We were told that a vegan Feltman’s hot dog is in the works. Great news for us vegans!
