7th Annual Coney Island Children’s Halloween Parade with Free Rides
CONEY ISLAND, October 26, 2016 – This Saturday, October 29th, the Alliance for Coney Island will host the 7th Annual Coney Island Children’s Halloween Parade with support from local Council Member Mark Treyger, State Senator Diane Savino, Assemblywoman Pamela Harris and local area businesses and organizations.
This event has become a cornerstone of Halloween events in New York City attracting over 1,200 children to participate last year. Aside from creating lasting memories for all attendees, the parade provides a great boost to the local economy and draws visitors from across the area.
Festivities begin at 10am with entertainment such as live music, magic shows, jugglers, face painters, balloon artists and more. This year’s costume contest will begin at Noon, judges include “Queen Marlene” of the Toy Museum of NY, Council Member Treyger, Senator Savino and Assemblywoman Harris. Afterwards local elected officials and the band the Marching Cobras will lead the parade on the Boardwalk to Luna Park where they will be able to enjoy 2 hours of unlimited rides at the park donated to the first 1500 children participating in the parade.
