Jose Reyes to play for Cyclones tomorrow afternoon
It seems as though Coney Island is the center of the universe. Well at least for this weekend. The Cyclone Rollercoster is turning 89 tomorrow with free rides at 12pm. The Amphitheater is opening tonight with Ziggy Marley even though it needs a few more cosmetic touches.
Tomorrow at 4pm you need to decide whether you want to go disco roller skating at Lola Star’s party at Coney Art Walls or check out Jose Reyes‘ return to the Mets organization as he plays for the Cyclones at MCU Park.
That’s right it was announced at 1pm today that the Mets have reaquired Jose Reyes. He will be in the Cyclones lineup at 4pm tomorrow as they battle the Hudson Valley Renegades at MCU Park in the second game of the series. According to ESPN:
“A reunion that didn’t seem possible as recently as eight months ago is now official. According to ESPN New York’s Adam Rubin, veteran shortstop Jose Reyes is returning to the New York Mets on a minor-league contract, though it’s fully expected he’ll join the major league team soon.”
We’re going to pre-game it at Steeplechase Beergarden!
