Former Cyclones Players Are World Series Bound!

A team grows in Brooklyn! From Coney Island to the World Series! Several former Brooklyn Cyclones players were very instrumental in bringing the Mets to the big series.

One popular Cyclones alumnus has just broken the post season record for consecutive home runs in a game. Daniel Murphy or Dan Murphy as he was known while playing in Brooklyn went deep in six consecutive post season games. The former Cyclones player has also won the NLCS Series MVP award.

According to Brooklyn Cyclones Assistant General Manager Gary Perone some of the current Mets players who were Cyclones include “Lucas Duda, Wilmer Flores, Juan Lagares, Hansel Robles, Michael Conforto, and Kirk Niuenheiss.”

That’s what’s special about having the Brooklyn Cyclones right here in Coney Island. You get to see some of these players develop here then go out and make baseball history.

According to Peggy O’Neill’s co-owner James Quigley back during his Cyclones days Daniel Murphy was a regular at his restaurant located in front of MCU Park. True to his Coney Island business Quigley says “Daniel Murphy hung out at Peggy O’Neill’s and so should you. Remember he was a Brooklyn Cyclones before he was a Met!”

Mets fever is spreading! Coney Island native and popular music performer Blazes released a Mets music video a week ago titled New York Groove/ Let’s Go Mets! The Mets haven’t lost a game since the video was released! The Tony Mann produced song features Brooklyn native and die hard Cyclones fan Marge Raymond on vocals. Marge, a talented vocalist has sung with and recorded with such popular acts such as ELO and Aerosmith among many others.

The Corn Mo produced video which was shot at numerous locations in the East Village also features nightlife legend, Interview Magazine writer and Columbia University Professor Gerry Visco!
