A Deer Spotted in Coney Island

A deer was spotted strolling through the Carey Gardens parking lot yesterday afternoon. Coney Island resident Shirley Aikens shared with us (thank you Shirley)pictures of the deer that she had taken from her apartment window.

Council Member Mark Treyger posted on social media: “For those interested about the deer found in Coney Island today…There were two found and apparently they swam back to Staten Island where they are believed to have come from.”

Yes, deers can swim. Apparently from Staten Island to Coney Island.

You may have also heard that a kangaroo was spotted at Staten Island today.

Also Mary Lee the 16ft Great White shark with over 90K Twitter followers happened to swim past nearby Rockaway Beach yesterday.

There were also some Polar Bears spotted swimming early yesterday morning celebrating a special occasion.

It was remarkable day for spotting wildlife.
