NYPD Officer Stabbed then Shoots and Kills Attacker on Subway

At 1:30PM today a police officer was stabbed near the subway platform at Ocean Parkway on the Coney Island/Brighton Beach border. Just one stop from the busy Coney Island Amusement District.

According to NBC News New York

“A transit cop shot and killed a man who stabbed him during an altercation on a subway platform in Coney Island.
The transit officer saw the man involved in a dispute with a woman on the Ocean Parkway Q train platform around 1:30 p.m Thursday and went to intervene, law enforcement sources say. As the transit officer approached the duo, the sources say the man pulled out a knife and stabbed the cop in the neck and shoulder. The officer then shot and killed the man. The officer was taken to the hospital in stable condition, police said. The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene, and a knife was recovered.”
