Thomas Perone AKA The Pig Guy
Since debuting at MCU Park last summer it seems like The Pig Guy is taking over the Big City. The Coney Island Blog had a chat this afternoon with Thomas Perone, AKA The Pig Guy. Mr. Perone’s nickname “The Pig Guy” was coined by Craig Carton of WFAN Radio’s Boomer and Carton Sports Radio Show.
Perone told us today that it all started for him back when he used to cater pig roasts for tail gate parties at Penn State and Syracuse football games.
According to Perone, back in 2013 his pig roasts at the New York Giants tail gate parties helped spark 5 wins in a row for Big Blue. Craig Carton christened Thomas Perone “The Pig Guy.” “It just stuck” claims Perone.
The Pig Guy has a location at Citi Field, the Ganesvoort Market as well as a new location opening soon in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. The popular bacon on a stick will be returning to MCU Park in July. Check out the website for updates.
Great taste in food obviously runs in the Perone family, like many of us Southern Brooklyn boys, Thomas’ big brother Gary once worked at Brennan and Carr, you know, that old restaurant famous for their Nostrand ave. style roast beef that many years back had a rotisserie.
Look out for The Pig Guy this summer!
