Thor’s Lot Begins Transformation as Smorgasburg will open Memorial Day (Vendor List)

Thanks to information obtained from the New York Times we were able to share with you back on April 29th the news of the locally popular Smorgasburg bringing vendors to the empty Thor Equities lot behind Nathan’s Famous. Although that end of the Bowery is mostly empty today, many years ago a spook ride called the Dragon’s Cave with it’s smoking mobile dragon head in front scared the living daylights out of this young boy on his way to Nathan’s former fly infested dining area.

The Coney Island Blog toured the lot area yesterday taking pictures of the temporary walls that will act as a canvas for art dealer Jeffrey Deitch’s “Coney Art Walls” exhibition.

The lot will be open on Memorial Day. There will be 12 vendors plus two bars serving Smorgasbeer. The space with it’s vendors will be open daily 11am-8pm. In between the street -art walls the complete list of vendors is as follows:
