Spring Cleaning at Coney Island

Spring may be another week away but you would not have know it you were on the Coney Island Boardwalk today as the mercury hit 62 degrees.

On the boardwalk workers at Luna Park were busy installing new signs on top of the game stands. Further down windows were being cleaned at the Brooklyn Beach Shop. Work was also being done on popular boardwalk ice cream store Coney’s Cones.

 

We spotted a mother and daughter relaxing on a beach towel a few feet from the ocean surf. All this as the dirty curbside snow was slowly melting away.

Yes, the hope of spring is evident in Coney Island.

Most of the seasonal amusements and businesses will be opening on Sunday, March 29th.
