Bomb Scare at PS 288

According to authorities someone called the school located at W. 25 St. in Coney Island this morning threatening to set off a bomb on campus. As a result entire school was evacuated. Students and facility returned to the school safely this morning after the threat was cleared.

Councilman Mark Treyger offered a statement on social media:

“I appreciate the swift response of the 60th pct to PS 288 this morning after an unsubstantiated bomb threat was made. I spoke to the 60th Precinct and will be in touch throughout the day. Kudos to the school faculty for an orderly evacuation to ensure the safety of all staff and children. My office will closely monitor this matter and be in touch with NYPD and DOE officials as well as parents/guardians.”
