Snowmageddon: The Great Dusting of 2015!

This morning started as a relief to some, a disappointment to others. As pretty as it looks this morning, the Abominable Blizzard of 2015 dropped a mere 5 inches of the white stuff at Coney Island. Looking at this picture of the landmarked Child’s Building this morning, one can faintly see evidence of snowfall.

As of 7:30 am, Mayor de Blasio has lifted the travel ban and as of 9am this morning 60% of subway service has been restored. Since schools are closed and most people don’t have work today it’s a good excuse to head out to take pictures of the newly fallen snow.

T-shirts are being sold already capitalizing on this local meteorological folly. Sites like redbubble.com have started selling shirts and hoodies displaying phrases such as “I Survived The Blizzard of 2015.”
