Former Cha Cha’s Space Still Up For Grabs
Remember that one summer when Cha Cha’s occupied Surf Ave as well as that Thor lot on Stillwell? Things were looking up. He even got Tony Danza to show up in the pouring rain to cut the ribbon on his outdoor bar/amusement park.
The new Surf Ave. Cha Cha’s provided us with exactly what we asked for and expected, Oh kay food, plenty of booze, great music, and continuous live entertainment. Next door they served Italian ices, frozen custard and yogurt. Brooklyn rocker Luigi Babe was wailing his guitar all summer along side the tantastic pin up gal, Brooklyn Babydoll. It wasn’t boardwalk Cha Cha’s; however, you have to admit the place was hoppin’. It had the familiar atmosphere of proverbial Brooklyn.
Sadly, Sandy destroyed Surf Ave. Cha Cha’s leaving it in ruins. The space is still listed on the market and needs quite the amount of work. Can we open another food/bar/entertainment restaurant on this spot? Anyone interested?
