Team RWB Takes The Plunge!
Leading nonprofit veteran organization Team Red, White and Blue has joined the Polar Bear Plunge for the second year in a row. The organization whose mission is to “enrich the lives of America’s veterans by connecting them to their community through physical and social activity” had twice the amount of plungers this New Year’s Day.
The day started and ended at Peggy O Neill’s where the organization made up mostly of our veterans and their supporters were greeted by James Quigley, the affable co-owner of the Surf Ave. restaurant and bar. By 1pm we joined a few dozen Team RWB members on the frigid beach boldly ready to take the plunge into the 41 degree Atlantic!

Team RWB will be back to Coney Island in full force this spring when the members will be participating in the Brooklyn Half Marathon.

Of course, Official Polar Bear Eddie Mark was there to snap this picture of Team RWB. Congratulations to Eddie for spending 26 minutes (clocked by Pamela Pettyjohn) in the icy Atlantic! For each minute that Eddie spent in the water monies was donated to the Coney Island Beautification Project! What a day it was!
