Lola Star Brings Coney Flavor To Williamsburg
For over a decade, Lola Star Boutique has been gracing the World’s Most Famous Boardwalk with custom made hip, cutting edge merchandise, clothing and accessories. But the road has not always been smooth. As a result of rezoning owner Dianna Carlin, aka Lola Star had to fight eviction to keep her flagship store on the boardwalk. A champion of animal rights and veganism, she’s not shy about speaking her mind and standing by her beliefs. Through it all not only is she surviving, but thriving. This year she has brought back her popular Disco party Lola Star’s Dreamland Roller Rink to Prospect Park, as well as expanding the Lola Star brand to the rapidly recovering and fabulously hip Rockaway Peninsula.
Today Lola Star had a soft opening for her adorable new store at 193 Bedford ave. in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. We stopped by this afternoon to say hello and to curiously browse through her newest boutique.
Her new store has quite the array of her signature Coney Island mugs, shot glasses and magnets adorned with her signature Coney Island Tee’s. With the pink chandelier hanging on the ceiling along with disco balls and a resplendent white unicorn, there is no doubt that Ms.Lola Star has arrived on Bedford ave.
We picked up some Brooklyn themed bracelets as well as a bottle of her ever popular vegan Coney Island themed nail polish. Lola wonderfully showed us a colorful children’s book she has on display called Custard and Mustard: Carlos in Coney Island by Maureen Sullivan.
As we left Lola assured us that there will be even more scintillating surprises in store for Lola Star Williamsburg. Stop by and tell them TheConeyIslandBlog sent you.
