Kids Kiss The Season Goodbye!
Thousands of kids dressed up in their Halloween best, lined up on Surf Avenue this morning to participate in the 5th Annual Coney Island Children’s Halloween Parade.
Fortunately, our two “Junior Reporters” had no qualms about participating in today’s festivities. We decided to tag along to see what all the fuss was about.
At about 12 noon our two “Junior Reporters” entered the gate at MCU Park where they were greeted with free bags of candy and wristbands which allowed them two hours of free rides at Luna Park.
Within a few hours MCU Park had been converted from a football stadium to a Coney Island Halloween Fantasyland complete with costumes, goodies, hot dogs, and side show performers!
By 1pm our two “Junior Reporters” could be found delightfully witnessing the sword swallowing skills of Adam RealMan while not resisting a photo op with Coney Island’s First Lady, the infinitely glamorous Princess Pat.
After the parade the ladies were ready to eat lunch at Tom’s Coney Island. After all they still had two hours of unlimited rides at Luna Park ahead of them. They quickly recharged by chowing down on Tom’s famous Lemon Ricotta Pancakes chased down with a tall glass of their wildly popular Cherry Lime Ricky. It’s not easy being a reporter!
After two full hours of free rides at Luna Park our two “Junior Reporters” once again needed to re-fuel. They were awarded two chocolate ice cream cones at Paul’s Daughter for their hard work and dedication. They even got to take a picture with “The Chief” Paul himself!
Our two “Junior Reporters” decided to end the day by riding the world’s most expensive carousel. These ladies needed a well deserved rest unwinding on the classic B&B Carousell.
To be a kid again!
Luna Park and Deno’s Wonder Wheel Park will be open tomorrow for one final time in 2014.
It was a great season! We’re looking forward to March 2015!
